Following up on the Faux-dora question, here’s what the buyer of the Beatrice Inn promised when he moved in to that classic red-sauce joint. Grub St. reported: “Sevigny says, “‘The whole idea behind the bar-restaurant is bringing things back to NYC, like American and New York things.’ Monday Scrabble sessions and Italian-food specials will cater to the old regulars.” Of course, we all know what really happened there.

By now, you may have heard that the Fedora restaurant will be closing on July 25 and that it will be renovated and turned into a “casual elegant supper club by successful restaurateur Gabe Stulman, who spoke of his intentions to “keep most of the cherished design details, along with the name, of the restaurant intact.”
